Chelsea under 23 facing relegation - Tuchel confirms the player to be sent from the first-team to play for Chelsea Under 23 to avoid relegation from the Premier League 2 Division 1.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed he may allow some of the first-team players to play for the relegation-threatened Under-23 side in a must-win match on Sunday.


It may sound surprising to those who do not follow the academy and the development squad, in particular, but Chelsea U23 are in a bad spot at the moment.

The young Blues sit 13th, second bottom, in the Premier League 2 Division 1 table with just six wins from 25 matches.


Well, many of the talented U23s are on loan. Therefore, except for a few, the U23s are mostly teenage talents who also play for the Under-18 sides.
